Pediatrics and Emergency Pediatric Services
Pediatrics is the specialty developed to maintain the health and medical well being of our children, from birth to adolescence. While many common minor childhood illnesses can be diagnosed and correctly treated by a general practitioner, many parents prefer the reassurance of a Pediatrician treating the more complicated chronic diseases or problems. Within Pediatrics, sub-specialists treat particular groups of children, for example Pediatric Allergist treats children with all types of allergic problems. Al Salam International Hospital offers parents a full range of Pediatric specialties for your children, set in pleasant, child-friendly environments in the clinics and wards. Our Emergency Pediatric Services operate round the clock, fully equipped and staffed, to deal with pediatric emergency cases.
We know that good care involves more than good medicine. That’s why our concern for you extends to every part of your stay. We want your experience at our Pediatrics Department to be as pleasant and as comfortable as possible.
The Special Care Baby Unit, the Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) and the development of Neonatology utilize the technology and professional knowledge to keep a premature infant alive. Neonatology is a sub-specialty of Pediatrics dedicated to giving these tiny, and sometimes very sick babies the very best chance of survival, utilizing the most up-to-date technology and clinical techniques. Al Salam International Hospital has a 21st Century Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, with medical specialists, paramedical and specially trained NICU nursing staff – a truly dedicated team, working together under the guidance of the Neonatologist, to advance the treatment of these small and premature infants.
